In January and in June every IATA
Travel Agency in the United States receives a copy of our
magazine/directory Specialty Travel Index. For 30 years,
Specialty Travel Index has been considered by travel agents as
the &laque;bible&raque; of the special interest and adventure travel
industry – where they look to find that special holiday for their clients.
Travel Agents are a very important part of the US travel
industry. The Associated Press reports that Visa Inc. – the
credit card company – in a recent survey reported that
nearly 45 percent of the 1,000 credit/debit card holders
surveyed said that they planned to use a traditional travel
agent to book their trip. Those surveyed have traveled
outside the United States in the past three years.
